Mini Mall | Rotterdam
Housed under the first seven arches of the former Hofplein Station in Rotterdam, a new hotspot has arisen in 2011, called Mini Mall. At this unique spot you find retail, bars and restaurants and artists and designers who express their ideas and work. Last week I passed by to have a look.
First I had a look in one of the stores called ‘Gussie | Doortje’. This store offers a mix of vintage fashion, food, furniture & fine art. Everything in the store is for sale; the art on the wall, the chair you sit on and the plate you eat off. After some browsing in the other stores I had a delicious lunch at ‘Lokaal 1e klas koffie’, where they serve (obviously) the best coffee! Local people prepare the food that is served, as an African woman in the neighborhood makes the cakes and a Rotterdam based baker family provides for the bread.
Besides that you can shop and eat, also events are organized at Mini Mall. You can check out the program here. This authentic place is definitely worth a visit.
