FoA.Academy organizes lectures with the aim to let young intellectuals share their inspiring research projects in the field of fashion, trends and sociology. FoA.Academy is a platform to share and connect. On December 15th 2011, FoA organized her first lecture evening at the AMFI concept store at Spui 23 in Amsterdam. Four young researchers, among them Karlijn Boersma, were invited to give a lecture:
Katarina Vuletic, graduated at AMFI and at the time Master student Design Cultures at the VU University of Amsterdam, told about her research project on hastiness in contemporary consumers behavior.
Liselot Francken, also graduated at AMFI and at the time Master student Design Cultures at the VU, gave an insight in the development of Dutch Design, while she was involved in the documentary film project of Dutch Design Fashion Architecture, called Dutch Profiles.
Karlijn Boersma, graduated at AMFI and UVA University of Amsterdam in Cultural Sociology, shared a part of her thesis on vintage and subcultures.
Birgit Boing, graduated at UVA in Cultural Sociology, told about her MA research project into the identity construction on Facebook.
The first FoA.Academy event was a very inspiring evening to listen, share and discuss. The next FoA.Academy lecture session will be in the summer of 2012.
